Still filling our days with activities until school starts in two days. We been supporting Kellsey at her field hockey games, shopping and going to the University of Maine football game. The weather has been beautiful. The sun shines and the temperature is usually in the high 70's.

Two weeks….  

*Major shopping day in Freeport and S. Portland.  

*Attended the first day of school for new   incoming students and exchange students, (finally) and ready for school to start Sept. 2.

*Visited Bar Harbor. 

Every day is one step closer to feeling more comfortable in the USA.

It's been one week since Lauren's arrival and we have filled the days with many activities.  One of the biggest adjustment has been to get used to the time change.  Luckily, school hasn't started yet so "sleeping in" has not been an issue.  Her internal clock is slowly adjusting.  

We have laughed together and cried together.  This week has been filled with all kinds of emotions but we wouldn't change a thing.  Every day is different and wonderful and we are so thankful to have Lauren with us.

Day 5 --  We have done so much and it hasn't even been a week.  Today we learned Brewer High School wouldn't be ready on Thursday the 28th for the first day of school. The students get an extended summer vacation. The first day of school is Monday, Sept. 2.

The first week has been busy with meeting new people, attending football cheering tryouts and trying to catch up on sleep. The time change has been a big adjustment to get used to.

Welcome to the U.S.A Miss Lauren Priest

Welcome family and friends. We are beyond excited to announce the arrival of our exchange student Miss Lauren Priest. Lauren is from New Zealand and we welcome her with open arms into our family. After 2 1/2 days of travel…New Zealand to Los Angeles to New York to Boston to Portland to Bangor…we were finally able to pick her up today and bring her home to Brewer, Maine.

It is going to be a busy, thrilling year and are delighted to share with you a little bit of our crazy, adventurous world.
